I have been a commercial waterfowl guide for over sixty-five years, and have hosted more than forty-five thousand people throughout the U.S.A. During this time many changes have accrued in hunting migratory waterfowl. I found the way of calling and different types of calls that are being manufactured is no doubt the most drastic change of all. The early years of my commercial hunting I used nothing but voice calling. It proved very successful and many great hunts came from it. But the time came when this was not possible for me to do as the many years of calling by voice had taken it's toll and my voice gave out and I was forced to rely on another source of calling if I was to continue commercial hunting. My very good friend and hunting partner for many years, Monte West, also was aware of the need of a goose call, that had volume, something we were unable to get with the goose calls that was on the market at this time. Monte did just that; he came up with a goose call with great tone and volume far superior than anything on the market. I have been using the Monte West Goose Call for over forty years, some minor changes have been made over the years, but basically it's the same call. A true tone with much volume, the only call made that when you hit the big Canada's with it at the right time you will see their tails drop and you know you got them.

I've always stressed volume in all my calls, when I first started making calls back in the early 1960's. We were getting into those large masses of Snow Geese coming up from Desoto National Refuge, and feeding in our area. When you had 5 to 10 thousand Snows up over you, and all calling at the same time, it took a call with a lot of volume to penetrate all that noise. Volume has always worked well with all my calls. The other thing I wanted to mention was when hunting migrating Canada geese at Kohler Commercial Hunting at Tekamah, Nebraska, Ralph Kohler and I always stressed using just one call or note, and timing was very important. This derived from the days when we called geese by mouth. We only used one call or note. I've made a tape which I demonstrate the different sound that I make in calling ducks and geese, both with a call and by mouth.

The Canada King Goose Call is one of the finest calls I have ever used in the field. The call produces those excellent sounds that will drive geese nuts. The pitch and the tone demonstrate the exact sound that a Canada makes. A person still has to practice just like with anything you do, but the Canada King is a very user friendly for anyone from a beginner to a professional. Another thing that really was attractive about the call was the craftsmanship. It is hard to find a good hand crafted call anymore that fits a persons needs. The Canada King has all of the qualities I was looking for. The Canada King is one of the finest handcrafted calls on the market.

On December 28, 2001, I hunted with a friend from the same field with a little snow cover. We killed our limit in just a little less than 20 minutes. The temperature was about 15 degrees with a cold wind. The Canada King never once froze up on me and we were able to bag a limit in no time flat. For a top of the line hand crated goose call that is very user friendly and will product sounds that drive geese crazy, don't look any farther, get yourself a Canada King.

On December 26, 2001, I took some of my customers and agronomists goose hunting up by Pierre, SD. I was taking the picture and my other friend was picking up the decoys. This picture demonstrates the results of the Canada King Goose Call from Cleveland Goose Calls. We decoyed a lot of birds and took a lot of 10 to 15 yard shots at these geese decoying into the decoys.
